Richmond Strikers Girls Lacrosse Makes a Major Announcement
RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond Strikers Lacrosse
and Storm Lacrosse are joining together to create
THE elite girls lacrosse program in Central, VA.
Strikers Lacrosse will be led by full-time, professional
directors working with experienced and talented
coaches to provide complete player development
and nationally competitive teams.
Strikers Girls Lacrosse have hired Sue Murphy, founder and Director of Storm Lacrosse, Richmond’s elite girls lacrosse program. Storm girls lacrosse will combine with the existing Strikers girls lacrosse to create RVA’s premier girls lacrosse program.
"The Richmond Strikers are very proud to announce Sue Murphy will be our first Girls Lacrosse Director of Coaching,” stated Richmond Strikers Executive Director, Jay Howell. "Sue has 28 years of coaching experience. She has placed hundreds of players into collegiate programs as well as coached collegiately for 15 years, and worked with US National Teams for seven years. Sue's current work has been fantastic with the successful Storm Lacrosse.
We look forward to Sue joining forces with Strikers Director of Lacrosse, Kendall Adkin, and bringing the best players and coaches together!"
Striker girls lacrosse will have a College Recruiting Advisory Board that is dedicated to each player's college search journey with a combined 85+ years involved in college level lacrosse collectively placing over 130 student-athletes.
Director of Girls Lacrosse, Kendall Adkin said about the two joining, "As the Director of Strikers lacrosse, I am thrilled to be joining together with Storm and to be working with Sue Murphy. By working together, we will provide all players with the appropriate playing opportunities for all ages and abilities. Sue and I and the Strikers staff will provide players with endless benefits and the highest level of player development. By combining the highest level of girls lacrosse staff in our area, it will create the most elite environment in our sport."”
Strikers will be offering multiple travel teams for the 2018-2019 season. Under the Strikers Girls Lacrosse page, you can find individual team pages with important team information, practice schedules and tournaments through summer of 2019.
The current Strikers and STORM teams will continue their individual team schedules with no interruption and complete their Summer 2018 itinerary under the policies and planning of their respective clubs.
Tryouts for the 2018-19 Richmond Strikers girls lacrosse teams will be between mid-June and the end of July. View the tryout information page.
Strikers will be holding a Webinar Q & A on Tuesday, May 1 at 8:00 PM, answering questions about the new programming and the exciting future of Strikers Lacrosse.
On Sunday, May 6 at 3:30 PM, Strikers will be holding a Girls Lacrosse Town Hall at the Hilton, Short Pump. The meeting is open to the public and will be going over Strikers girls lacrosse information.
